Raising a child as a teen mom, overcoming childhood abuse, and bad habits youths in the projects are faced with each day proved Elizabeth’s stubbornness turned to gold.
Her dedication to her Nation, her Undergraduate and two Master’s Degrees, and finally her Doctoral Degree are prize awards from her Camies2Civies, Dr. Small thanks Ms. Janice Neal, her lifetime friend, who joins as as a witness to declare and decree truth on air. Dr. Small shares that having a supportive ear from Ms. Janice Neal, fellow Master of Arts graduate and Director of Western Military Campuses at Webster University validates the importance of Faculty that care about the plight of Soldiers and Military Families that serve and go to college. Their transcripts credits should be retained and transferrable and the road to their degrees should be made attainable while in uniform. Yet, educational accomplishment on orders is full of hurdles, occasional roadblocks and finally, true rewards. Ms. Janice Neal and Dr. Elizabeth alike volunteer to motivate current and future students to continue their higher education path unto completion outside their full time professions. Ms. Janice is passionate on military education policies and change and served as the 2019-2020 Past President of the Council of Colleges on Military Educators advocating for military students. Ms. Janice is ever proud of Dr. Small for her endurance, excellence, and exceptional dedication to her studies over 25 years of their acquaintance. In St. Louis Missouri, they reminisce on the sacrifices, the suffering, and now the many successes education affords them now.
